Practical, Canadian-specific Disney planning advice from a team of College of Disney Knowledge graduates and former Cast Members.

When is the best time to visit Walt Disney World from Canada?

The lowest-crowd, best-value windows are mid-January to early February, late August to mid-September, and the first two weeks of November. Avoid Canadian March Break (mid-March) for the lowest waits.

What about packing for a Disney Cruise?

Bring a power bar (Disney ships allow non-surge protected ones), magnetic hooks for the stateroom doors, a lanyard for your Key to the World card or MagicBands/DisneyBands, and a refillable water bottle.

Currency, payment, and tipping tips

Use a Canadian-issued U.S. dollar credit card with no foreign transaction fees, since all charges are in USD. Tipping at Walt Disney World is standard (18–20% sit-down dining). On Disney Cruise Line, gratuities are pre-paid and recommended at $14.50 USD/guest/night.
